I have had various lipo consultations for years. Literally. I had researched it to death. None of the doctors I consulted with ever made me comfortable enough to go through with it. I’m sure they were great doctors, but I needed more than just a great doctor. I researched SmartLipo and became familiar and more comfortable with that procedure so I started having consultations with SmartLipo trained doctors in the area. Again, I just wasn’t comfortable enough to go through with it. Then I visited Medical Spas of Houston…

From the time I walked into the clinic, I just knew I had finally found a place. Everyone was super-friendly and courteous. I met Dora and honestly thought she should be a surgeon!! I can’t remember any person at any other consultation telling me so much about the procedure and in such detail. She could answer any question I had. I think I had decided to have the procedure after talking to Dora, I hadn’t even seen Dr. R. yet. I knew he would be icing on the cake.

After Dora finished giving me all the information, I met Dr. Rodriguez. Love him!! He was very easy to talk to. So easy, that for the very first time I actually let him see the extent of the problem. The true extent. I had NEVER done that before. I always sucked in, even during consultations. He never flinched. He made markings while explaining everything along the way. The way he went about it made me confident that he could do everything he was telling me. I secured my spot on the schedule the next day.

When I went in for my procedure I was so excited. Everything went so smoothly, I sometimes joke it went too well because that makes it easy for me to want to go back for more (as opposed to working out). LOL Julie was amazing at keeping me calm and at ease. The most painful part of the procedure was getting the shot! Once I got into the room everything was great. I was relaxed during the procedure, if anything felt funny I would let Dr. R. know and he would explain to me what was going on and it would be over in an instant. The time seemed to pass very quickly between holding my never-turned-on iPod in my hand, drifting in and out of sleepiness, and being nosey about what was going on. I was very happy that Dr. R. and Julie didn’t just go about their work and ignore me while the procedure was going on. They were happy to talk with me making more comfortable. Before I knew it, Dr. R. was telling me they were about to put me into my garment.

I can say, without reservation, that this has been money well-spent. I still have some swelling, nothing major, but if it never gets any better than this, I look fabulous! Amanda called me over the weekend to make sure things were going ok. When I took my garment off to shower the first time, I almost cried tears of joy. Seriously. I thought Dr. R. had worked a miracle! My follow-up visit was hilarious. I wanted to run around naked and show everyone. My healing is going fantastic. So fantastic, that I referred a friend to Dr. R. about a week after mine. She has had her procedure and is just as ecstatic as I am!

All-in-all, I am very glad I did that. I sometimes think, why did I wait so long. But if I had come into contact w/ Dr. R. any sooner, I’m sure I would have gone through with it a long time ago. Dr. Rodriguez and his staff can’t be beat. When I go in, everyone talks to me as if they saw me yesterday, they ask about things we talked about the previous time, and I’m constantly in amazement that with so many patients they are able to remember those small details about their time with me. It is a constant reassurance that I definitely picked the right doctor!
